The BV Freeride Team hit the road once again this past weekend for the final stop of the Tahoe Junior Freeride Series. The competition took place at the legendary chutes of Mt. Rose, renowned for having the steepest continuous run in North America. Standing at the top, it’s easy to see why this terrain is so intimidating—but our young athletes showed no fear as they tackled the slopes with skill and determination.
U15 and U19 Athletes Take on the Challenge.
Representing BV, three U15 and two U19 skiers put on stellar performances. This event also marked a milestone for our first female competitor on the road, Evelyn Satrom. In her debut competition, she delivered a solid performance, earning 11th place in her panel. We can’t wait to see her continue to shine in future events!
Zachary Zaslavsky came out of the gate strong with an incredible run but took a tumble after going for a big drop. His fearless approach embodied our team motto: “Go big or go home!” Meanwhile, Flynn Gurushanthaiah, dubbed “Flying Flynn” by the announcers, showcased lightning-fast speed and flawless form, securing 9th place in his panel.
Sunday saw Michael Zaslavsky and Saxon Schreiber representing BV with impressive performances. Michael went big and finished 6th in his panel, while Saxon landed in 19th place. The team was thrilled to see multiple athletes finish in the top 10, and we are already looking ahead to claiming podium spots next season.
Looking Ahead
If you see our athletes on the mountain, be sure to give them a big shout-out for their outstanding efforts! With another storm approaching, you can bet they’ll be back on the slopes, pushing their limits once again.
Unfortunately, our U12 competitions were canceled due to weather, but they’ll finally get their chance to compete at Sugar Bowl on March 22. We wish them the best of luck!
A Huge Thanks to Coach Todd Berg
None of this would be possible without the dedication of Coach Todd Berg. His unwavering support and commitment to our athletes have been instrumental in the success of our team. We are incredibly grateful for everything he does to help these young skiers thrive.
Congratulations to all our competitors for an incredible season. We can’t wait to see what’s next for the BV Freeride Team—see you on the slopes!
